And Still We Sing

Covid-19 has challenged all aspects of society. Millions of people have fallen ill and tens-of-thousands have lost their lives. We mourn for those lost and give thanks for those who have recovered. While our day-to-day lives have been upended, we recognize that being inconvenienced by physical distancing, limited goods and services, and wearing a mask all pale in comparison to the loss of life we have experienced.

If there is anything good to come from a global pandemic, it is the countless acts of kindness and grace offered to one another, the recognition of what has been lost that had been taken for granted, and the reminder of what truly matters. Music is, by all accounts, a necessary part of human activity, whether it be as a performer or as a listener. For our part, we will work toward making music safely, recognizing that no “plan” is fool-proof and risks exist in all aspect of human endeavor. But we will not allow the music to go silent. In an effort to return safely to choral singing in the Fall of 2020, we have devised plans for all choral ensembles.
